I work at the intersection of water and food policy, gender and water, environmental governance, with experience spanning UNESCO’, FAO, WWF, and research across the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. My work explores how virtual water, groundwater governance, and food systems shape justice and inequality in the water sector.

I recently engaged with Social Corporate Responsibility , Water Credits, Water Net Zero and Water compensaton mechanisms, in my last book , giving a critical review of these concepts and warning against BlueWashing.

Mar De Molada, ( MOVIE screen) : around 500 people attending. The event saw the presence of the Rector of the University, the Scientific Committeee of the Workshop on Hydropolitics, the organizing committee, and it was marked by the presence and active participation of the Italian celebrity Marco Paolini, Italian civil theatre actor and director, who is leading a forefront experimental initiative called “The River Bank Atlas of Italy “ ( l’Atlante delle Rive) trying to reconnect citizens to water.

She had been invited - prior to taking up my Marie Curie position - by Professor Frithjof C. Kuepper, Chair in Marine Biodiversity, University of Aberdeen, to present at the two-day bicommunal conference held under the joint auspices of the Glafkos Clerides Institute, the Cyprus Peace and Dialogue Center, and the Next Century Foundation, and with support from the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Cyprus, and the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
