Greenhouse irrigation or tunnelled irrigation

An  irrigation system which does not use rain: only withdrawals, is also called a blue-water intensive and green-water zero system. Typical of Mediterranean coastal zones such as Almeria, South of Sicily, Greece, and Nort Africa Coastal plains.

Contract Farming

When intermediaries decide the price of your tomatoes, sometimes is it not worth to harvest. Contract-farming is reducing the income generation of producers who are pushed to produce more with more fertilizers and more pesticides, at the detriment of water quality.

Intermediaries in food trade
