What are the ramifications of global food export? Hear the latest from scientists analysing the link between water, food and trade.
What do water footprints and patterns of virtual water trade tell us about the state of irrigation, environmental decision-making and water vulnerability?
King's Water Centre brings the latest scientific insights and geospatial analysis of water footprints in this webinar. Through interdisciplinary debate, this event will offer novel insights on the complex implications of water-intensive agricultural production and trade.
Dr Francesco Greco (Visiting Research Fellow, Department of Geography, King's College London) will kick off with a presentation on "Spatial analysis of Water Footprint and virtual water trade as a tool to disentangle hydro social narratives of water injustice and environmental fragility"
Dr Rick Hogeboom (Visiting Research Fellow, School of Government, King's College London; University of Twente; Executive Director, Water Footprint Network) will act as discussant.

Today, 21st of November 2025, the website Women in Water Italy was launched!
This website is part of my Marie Sklodowska Curie project JustWATER and will serve as a platform for
-- exploring the role of women and water in Italy
-- engage the University of Bergamo with the UNESCO Coalition for the Acceleration of Gender Equality in the Water Sector
-- Create a network of people interested in water and women in Italy
-- dialogue with UN Water and their next World Water Day Celebration , whose theme will be "Water and Gender Equality"
The launch of the project was advertized thanks to the "OFF" programme provided by the platform of the national event L'EREDITà DELLE DONNE
